Wednesday, October 13th, 2021
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm EST

Wastewater-based COVID-19 epidemiology programs and research initiatives have been initiated in many countries to provide public health agencies with a non-discriminatory, complementary disease tracking metric. The Ontario MECP Wastewater Surveillance Initiative has recently being extended until 2022 and includes the surveillance of 175 sites across the province and reports the results all 34 provincial public health units. The presentation addresses challenges and successes of COVID-19 wastewater surveillance in the province of Ontario and across Canada.
